Mitski - The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We (Vinyl LP)

The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We is the expansive seventh studio album by Japanese-American singer-songwriter Mitski, released in 2023 via Dead Oceans. Described by Mitski as her "most American album," the record trades synthetic art-pop for rich, cinematic arrangements featuring full orchestral strings, pedal steel guitar, and a 17-person choir.

Lyrically focused on the transformative, painful, and enduring nature of love, the album moves through sonic landscapes ranging from country-tinged folk to soaring indie rock. Driven by the viral global smash "My Love Mine All Mine," alongside critical favorites like "Bug Like an Angel" and "Heaven," it stands as one of Mitski's most vulnerable and triumphant works to date.
